Overview

  • We're looking to hire our first Product Designer to be at the forefront of our product team to drive UX excellence, product discovery and optimize our key user flows
  • You will work directly with our VP of Product and be a key part of the product trifecta (UX, Engineering, Product) to help Woolf deliver desirable and valuable experiences to our users
  • You will drive Woolf's product user experience to deliver a frictionless experiences for each of our users.

About Woolf

  • We're building a new operating system for higher education - we created the only platform that is able to accredit new colleges and degrees, using the same accreditation as other major universities. See more at Woolf Labs.
  • The opportunity is enormous, and we're building a category-defining company, increasing the speed of innovation in higher education and increasing access to accredited high-quality education
  • We empower educators, bootcamps, and entrepreneurs to build accredited colleges and degrees on our platform with speed and at scale, without sacrificing quality. This product matters.

The Role

Woolf is a product company. We believe in empowered product teams that own the problem space and can make decisions autonomously. As the first full time product designer in a start-up you will have a great opportunity to practice your craft and help the team deliver a frictionless experience to our users.

Because Woolf is a marketplace, you will be dealing with a dual-sided product offering: B2B as we offer a best-in-class solution for our education customers (colleges, bootcamps, online MBA, etc.) as well as a B2C experience as we want to deliver a best in class learning experience for our learners.

While we have a high level branding and design system in place, you will be the one in charge of iterating on it, and making it the cornerstone of our users' experience.

We care about results, not activity, and we have fun doing it. If you like hard problems, are not afraid to context-switch often (we are a startup!) and stretch yourself to help the team succeed, we want to hear from you!

You will:

  • Manage a complex brand on multiple properties
  • Establish and develop our design system
  • Decline our design systems in design patterns, widget and library in conjonction with our engineering team
  • Do product discovery (with the product manager) and user research
  • Identify key areas of improvement, propose and test solutions with our users

You might be a fit if:

  • You get a kick out of getting close to perfection one step at a time
  • You are OK with ambiguity
  • You have a proven track record for working well with a cross-functional product team
  • You are low ego and have a knack for working well with a wide range of people
  • You have a process-oriented mindset and ability to influence people to get things done
  • You have experience in product design
